Sue Elliott, Director ![]() Rice County Council on Aging office in Lyons Friendship Meals: The following locations in Rice County provide Friendship Meals on site. You will need to call 24 hours ahead and make a reservation.
Public Transportation in Rice County is "Quivira Transit. In-town and in-county service is provided with a wheel chair accessible mini-van on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. Call 620-257-5153 for a ride. The charge for in-town is 75¢ per trip; for in-county from town to town it's $1.50. Punch cards are available. The card saves 25¢ per in-town trip and 50¢ per in-county trip.Out of county trips are provided, for medical appointments only, on Monday through Friday. Transportation is provided by volunteers. Individuals must call at least 2 days in advance to schedule a ride. 620_257_5153 The charge for out of county trips is $15.00 round trip to Hutchinson and communities with equivalent mileage, and $25.00 round trip to Wichita.Meetings & Special Services Days: Some meetings may be cancelled or changed if the normal meeting date falls on, or close to, a holiday.
