Friendship Meals:
The following locations in Rice County provide Friendship Meals on site.  You will need to call 24 hours ahead and make a reservation.

  • Sterling, 220 N. Third, (620) 278-3881
We have a Lunch Bunch program which offers free rides to and from these meal sites, using "Quivira Transit" described below.
 
Public Transportation in Rice County is "Quivira Transit".
 
In-town and in-countyservice is provided with a wheel chair accessible minivan Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Cal 620-257-5153 for a ride.
The charge for in-town is $1.00 per trip; for in-count town to town is $2.00 each Way. Punch cards are available. The card saves .25 cents per in town trip And .50 cents per town-to-town trip.
Out of county trips are provided on Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. Transportation is provided with a wheel chair accessible minivan. Individuals need to call at least 2 days in advance. Trip destination is based on first come first serve calls. To schedule a ride call 620-257-5153.
The charge for out of county trips is $15.00 round trip to Hutchinson and Communities with equivalent mileage. And $30.00 to Wichita and communities with equivalent mileage. Our service area is within 100 miles of Rice County.
